Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible with establishing the current study of the memory of witnesses and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has received numerous international and national prizes. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around the globe on policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims in the justice system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
